Gardening and landscaping is my favourite part of maintaining the curb-side appeal of my home. While the pay-off is rewarding as my gardens look rockin’, i also find playing in the dirt oddly satisfying! LOL. While maintaining your gardens can be time consuming, or take up a bit of pocket change, the reward is substantial. Although maintaining your homes curb-side appeal may seem like a strenuous task, there are many simple and cost effective ways to spruce up the outside of your home that youre able to do yourself , and without breaking the bank! Here are some of the most important upgrades you can make!

  1. Clean and Declutter: One of the cheapest ways to improve your home’s curb appeal is to give it a thorough clean. Remove any unnecessary clutter from the yard, such as old bikes or toys, and pressure wash the exterior of your home, driveway, and sidewalks if possible. 

  2. Add Mulch: Adding fresh mulch to your flower beds can give them a neat and tidy appearance. Mulch is inexpensive and also helps keeps weeds at bay. Its a great way to spruce up your gardens and make those flower beds pop!

  3. Plant Perennials: Instead of buying annuals every year, plant perennials that will grow back year after year. They’re typically cheaper in the long run, and they can add different textures and colour to your landscaping.

  4. Paint Your Trim: A fresh coat of paint on your home’s exterior trim is an inexpensive non-time consuming way to clean up your exterior and give it an updated look. Just make sure you choose a colour that compliments the rest of your home.
